Festive Scholarship Award Ceremony Celebrates 2018 Winners

May 22, 2018-  Celebrating its 13th year of scholarships, the Arts Advisory Committee hosted a gala evening at the Millburn Library for the 2018 Scholarship Winners, their families, friends, school officials, library management, local politicians, sponsors, art patrons, and Millburn township committees.  Attendees enjoyed a three course meal and musical entertainment during the event, and winning artworks were on display in the library.

Before the scholarship winners were presented with their awards, the audience was treated to two films.  A trailer for an upcoming documentary chronicling the restoration of the two Edward Dufner paintings owned by the township and on display in the library made its world premiere. This film, produced by the Art Advisory Committee and directed by Emma Quong and David Koh, intimately follows the process of removing, restoring, re-framing and re-hanging the artworks in the Millburn library.

Michael Banick (Millburn Library Director) and Jeanne Weill (Millburn Historical Society President) made a few remarks before Laraine Barach presented the awards to the winning students. Each Scholarship winner received a certificate as well as two gift bags filled with contributions from the scholarship sponsors.
